Every window below is venue-confirmed and recurring — this is what Saturday looks like most weeks, not a one-off lineup.
Suggested run: dinner and jazz on the Plaza at 6, blues and barbecue in Lawnside at 7, bands in Westport at 8, then the West Bottoms at 9 for as long as you want it.
The run, hour by hour
1. Chaz Restaurant & Lounge (Plaza) — Live jazz in the lounge nightly, 6 to 10. The civilized start: a real dinner, a real band, no cover to sit and listen. View →
2. B.B.'s Lawnside BBQ (Lawnside) — Live blues Tuesday through Saturday, 7 to 10. Barbecue and a band in the same room, which is arguably the most Kansas City sentence there is. Cover charge applies; kids 12 and under free. View →
3. Tin Roof (Westport) — Weekends at the Roof, from 8 PM Friday and Saturday. Live bands and DJs across two stages, five bars and three patios — the point in the night where the volume comes up. View →
4. Laila Lounge (West Bottoms) — Doors at 9, Saturdays until 3 AM. Latin nights are the signature: live bands and DJs, salsa through reggaeton. View →
5. Club Casablanca (West Bottoms) — Doors at 9, two doors down from Laila at 1715 W 9th. Afrobeats, Amapiano and Afro house. You can walk between four and five in under a minute, which is the whole reason this run ends here. View →
6. Green Dirt on Oak (Crossroads) — The Sunday encore. Live jazz every Sunday evening until 8:30, alongside farm-to-table dinner and a rooftop deck. The gentle landing after all of the above. View →
How to run it
- Short on time? Stops 3, 4 and 5 are the night proper — Westport at 8, West Bottoms from 9.
- Not drinking? Chaz, B.B.'s and Green Dirt are all rooms where the music is the reason to be there, and all three serve a full dinner.
- Bring people. Every stop on this list is better with a group, and four of the six have room for one.
